Jellypod: what the AI podcast generator does, and how it differs from an AI co-host

The short answer

Jellypod is an AI content platform that turns a topic, document, slide deck or script into a podcast voiced by one to four AI hosts. You can edit any line, clone your own voice or design new ones, and publish through an RSS feed to Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube. Paid plans start at $25 a month (as of October 2026). It generates episodes; it doesn't join a recording you're making.

Jellypod comes up a lot when people search for AI podcast tools, and it's one of the more complete ones. I build a different kind of AI podcast tool, an AI co-host that joins a show you're recording, so I went through Jellypod's own site and pricing to lay out what it does and who it's for. Prices and limits here are as of October 2026.

What Jellypod does

Jellypod describes itself as an AI content platform for podcasts, audio dramas, videos, shorts and voiceovers. For podcasts, the workflow goes like this:

It goes further than most generators. Automations can run on a schedule: search the web, write a script, generate an episode, and either publish it or wait for your review. There's also a video side, with illustrated styles and vertical shorts with captions, plus an API for developers.

Usage runs on monthly credits, charged at 30 credits per minute of narration. There's no free plan, but there is a 7-day trial that needs a payment method. Every plan includes commercial rights, and Jellypod's FAQ says you own what you make and that it doesn't train models on what you upload.

Who it's for

Jellypod suits people who want a podcast to exist without recording one. A company turning its blog into an audio feed, a creator who wants a daily news briefing that writes itself, or a teacher turning course material into listenable episodes would all get a lot from it. The scheduling and RSS publishing make it closer to a podcast factory than a one-off toy, and the sixty minute episode length puts it well ahead of tools capped at a few minutes.

The voice cloning is worth understanding clearly. If you clone your own voice, your clone reads lines that Jellypod wrote. It sounds like you, but you aren't in the conversation.

How it differs from an AI co-host

An AI co-host works the other way around. Instead of generating the episode, it joins one you're actually recording. maneku, the one I build, joins your Descript, Riverside or Restream session as a participant with its own tile, name and voice. It listens to you and your guests, stays quiet until you summon it, and then reacts, researches a question, or carries a segment.

The simplest way to choose is to ask whether you want a podcast or want to podcast. If you want the episode without the recording, Jellypod is one of the strongest options. If you want to sit down and talk, with an AI voice in the room when you want one, that's what a co-host is for. More on that split in AI podcast generators vs. an AI co-host.

Questions people ask

Is Jellypod free?

Up to four AI hosts per episode, according to Jellypod's site.

How long can a Jellypod episode be?

Up to 60 minutes on the Starter, Creator and Business plans, according to the pricing page. Enterprise plans list unlimited episode length.

I built maneku. I also make all the artwork and marketing for Dry Quest, an app I developed with my wife, and I'm usually building a smaller app or two on the side. I co-host the Bro History podcast, and by day I work in revenue operations. Before all of this, I was an artist across a lot of mediums, including music and audio.

Want a co-host in your next recording?

maneku is in open beta on macOS. It joins Descript, Riverside and Restream as a real participant.
