What exactly is maneku?
A Mac desktop app that joins your podcast or livestream room as an AI co-host. It listens to the conversation, and when you summon it, it speaks in the room with its own voice and its own tile — like a real guest, not a chat window off to the side.
Which platforms does it work with?
Right now: Descript Rooms, Riverside, and Restream Studio. A "companion" mode for Zoom, Google Meet and anything else with a microphone is on the roadmap. Sign up and tell us where you record — it helps us prioritize.
When can I actually use it?
Yes. maneku is in open beta with a limited number of seats. Sign up on this page and, if a seat is free, your beta package arrives in your inbox within a minute. It runs on your own AI keys, which take about ten minutes to set up.
Does the co-host show up in my recording?
Yes — and that's the point. On multitrack platforms like Descript and Riverside it records as its own separate stem, so in post you can edit it, level it, or remove it independently from the human tracks.
Can I change how it sounds and behaves?
Completely. You pick the voice and the personality. The persona switcher at the top of this page is the real feature — every word you see rewrites itself to match the character. That's exactly what your co-host does on your show.
